As we all start to come together for Christmas and end-of-year celebrations, there’s one thing everyone can agree on: This year has been HARD. Both on a global scale (think airplanes falling out of the sky, immensely violent acts against others, that kind of terribleness) and on a personal scale as people faced various challenges and crises. So as we all reflect on 2014, there’s been a definite sense of ‘let’s put it all behind us, bring on 2015!’

The good news is, this means there’s a lot of excitement in the air and a lot of positive forward-thinking juu-juu. Which I love! There’s no point dwelling on what came before — you can’t change it, so take the lessons and leave the rest behind (easier said than done, I know).

If you haven’t already, this is a great time to turn your mind to 2015. What do you want it to look like? What do you want to do? How do you want to feel? What don’t you want in your 2015?

I’m not necessarily talking about goals here; that can come later when you might want to consider turning your wants into specific, actionable things. For me, among other things, I want to write more and I want to continue to grow this blog.

More generally? For all of us, I wish:

>> Happiness, relaxation, less stress, less anxiety, less drama, more ease, more love, more fun, more silliness just for the sake of play, more joy.

>> Good health, stillness, strength and wholeness, simplicity, tasty treats, laughter shared over good food and wine (if that’s your thing, or a delicious fruity beverage).

>> More creative pursuits, in whatever form that takes for you. Sunshine and sun showers. Big fat rain when you can be snuggled up inside to enjoy it undrenched.

>> More meaningful connections, more cuddles, more giggles, lightness, little stolen moments to yourself. Less judgement, more curiosity.

All of the good stuff. It is ok to have lots of good without some bad to ‘balance it out.’ Be grateful, be present, notice it and enjoy it.

Whatever it looks like for you, I hope you have a wonderful celebration-season with your loved ones. Be good to each other, try your best to be patient and let the frustrations slide in favour of smiles and fun!

Tell me, what’s your Christmas wish? What do you want your 2015 to look like?
