You all noticed that the first quarter of this year just disappeared, right? Actually, I know you did because the internet was full of memes about it. It’s been awhile since I’ve stopped by these parts and I’ve really missed you! This was the year that I was going to get my blog back on track and then… well, it’s April.

My business has been super busy, which (is awesome and) has had me on a really steep learning curve about time management and prioritising things and getting the most out of each day both for client work and business-running and having a life and taking care of myself. That’s a lot of things. I wouldn’t change it, but I’m on a constant quest to get better at it 🙂

I haven’t forgotten you though and I am hereby renewing my commitment to hanging out here more! To get back into the swing of things I thought I’d start with a snapshot of where I’m at right now, taking a leaf out of Pip from Meet Me at Mike’s with a quick stocktake.

Making: lamb and veggie soup. My grandma always used to make it so there’s a whole lot of happiness wrapped up in it, not to mention the inherent comfort in a hearty soup.

Cooking: oh wait…

Drinking: Forest Fruits tea. Now that it’s getting cooler I want hot drinks more than cold so this is a delicious warm way to make sure I still get plenty of water.

Reading: Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married by Marian Keyes, and Going Clear by Lawrence Wright, about the Church of Scientology. It’s fascinating and bewildering and a bit scary to learn what goes on there. Definitely worth checking out.

Wanting: an extra day in the week to do all of the things I want to! And some new jeans.

Looking: forward to spending some time with Chris soon 🙂

Deciding: where to focus my attention, seeing as I’m not getting that extra day any time soon.

Enjoying: the freedom to work in ugg boots and a blankie as the weather turns cooler.

Waiting: to hit the sweet spot where the biz stuff becomes a bit smoother. I’m sure once I get there some new challenges will present themselves, but that’s ok.

Liking: that I can start getting my scarves out again (even if it is because it’s getting colder).

Wondering: how the mornings became cold so suddenly! I know it’s autumn and all but can’t we ease into it?!

Loving: that cold weather means soup and scarves and blankies. I know I complain about the cold, but there is a lot I love about autumn too.

Considering: another writing course, later in the year. Choices, choices…

Buying: Not much (although I desperately need more jeans, suddenly my two favourite pairs got holes in them, boo!)

Watching: Pretty Little Liars. Such drama! Much intrigue!

Hoping: my new online course support packages find their way to the clients that need the help.

Marvelling: at how fast this year is disappearing. It can be easy to think it’s leaving you behind when time moves this fast, so take a moment to think about everything you have done so far <3

Needing: to create a writing habit. A few weeks ago I’d planned the best way to fit it in (getting up earlier) but then my sleep went to hell. Late nights + early mornings does not inspire creativity my friends. One thing at a time, I guess.

Smelling: barbecue, mmmmmm. I wonder if I can invite myself over for dinner…

Wearing: Jeans and ugg boots, basically all the time.

Following: The Seanwes podcast — my newest favourite and I’ve been binging on their back catalogue.

Thinking: of something to fill in this question… it’s hard 🙂

Admiring: my clients – they have so many exciting projects and are doing so well in their businesses. It’s very inspiring!

Sorting: out my schedule. These days I live by my schedule and it’s a constant work in progress to get the most out of it. And I’ll tell you a secret — the best schedule is the one you actually follow!

Getting: slightly better at Snapchatting. Are we friends?

Opening: the patio door less frequently, especially in the mornings.

Giggling: at 30 Rock. True to my late-adopter ways I’ve only recently started watching it and it’s hilarious!

Feeling: excited about April! It’ll be a busy month but I’ll be getting to spend time with my family, my adorable nieces, and Chris, so it’ll be worth putting in the extra hours to make space for all the fun 🙂

Snacking: on popcorn. I may have an addiction…

Helping: a bunch of really fantastic people do what they do best.

Hearing: the crowd from the MCG. Footy season’s back!
