Today Manfriend suggested we create a balcony garden and have a go at growing some of our own vegies.

He wanted to go straight to Bunnings, grab a garden crate thingy, a bunch of plants and soil, and whatever else we needed, or thought we might need.

I wanted to jump on Google, maybe grab some books about small-space gardening and seek out recommendations of what would be easy to grow for slightly incompetent beginners.
